Overview: In this video, we discuss our thought process of designing the restaurant in the Trafford Centre and why we decided on the outcome.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="5/6"][vc_column_text]

At Studio Tashkeel, we don’t just design restaurants — we design experiences. So when we were tasked with bringing the vibrant energy of Mumbai’s street food scene to Manchester’s Trafford Centre, we were more than ready.

🛕 The Vision: Mumbai Meets Manchester

The client’s goal was clear:

“Make diners feel like they’ve stepped onto the streets of Mumbai.”

Not an easy ask — but exactly the kind of creative challenge we love.

We weren’t just designing a place to eat. We wanted every moment — from first glance to final bite — to feel like part of the story.

✨ The Experience Begins at First Sight

We started with the facade, designing a front that doesn’t just welcome customers — it pulls them in. Think bold colors, layered textures, and that unmistakable feeling of “What’s happening in there?” Inside, we layered the space with a rich mix of materials, lighting, and finishes, chosen to evoke the spirit, sound, and soul of India’s busiest food lanes.

🍛 Design That Serves the Food

Of course, design isn’t just about how things look — it’s about how they work. Behind the scenes, we focused heavily on operational flow, ensuring the kitchen layout, customer movement, and service areas all work in sync. The goal? 👉 Serve authentic Indian street food fast — without compromising on quality.

💡 More Than a Restaurant

Chit N Chaat isn’t just another food spot. It’s a living, breathing space — one where architecture and food storytelling collide. We see it as a testament to how thoughtful design can elevate a simple idea into a multi-sensory dining experience. Every surface, every beam, every light fixture contributes to the same goal: Bring India to Manchester — and make it unforgettable.
